The Guest Lecture Program was created in 2019 to introduce asset-based lending (ABL), factoring and other secured lending disciplines to students, as a way to educate and encourage younger and more diverse talent in the secured finance industry – a 500 billion dollar industry.

In support of this lecture series, the Secured Finance Foundation ("SFFound" or "Foundation") connects industry leaders to undergraduate and graduate finance students. Each Guest Lecture is led by individuals from our network of Foundation and Board members, committee leaders, or our local and community-driven chapter network, providing students with a high-level look at secured finance as an industry and a career path.

Each Guest Lecture includes access to our database of current internships offered by our network of 276 member companies, a scholarship program to support internship acquisition and networking opportunities both at the local level and at the national level.

To support the Guest Lecture Program and the students who attend the series, SFNet has created an Internship Database which is updated both quarterly and on a rolling basis prior to each scheduled Guest Lecture. This database is populated with current and on-going internships, paid and unpaid.

Thanks to the generosity of the Martin I. Katz Guest Lecture Scholarship Program, SFNet is delighted to offer a scholarship for students to lessen the financial stresses of accepting an internship. The Martin I. Katz Guest Lecture Scholarship is available to any undergraduate or graduate student who secures and completes an internship through the Guest Lecture Program.
