Cheslie Kryst
Attorney, Emmy-Nominated Correspondent, 2019 Miss USA
A powerful and versatile speaker, Cheslie Kryst first gained national attention after delivering memorable answers to onstage questions asked during the Miss USA 2019 Competition. Her responses about #MeToo, #TimesUp, and millennials helped her to win the title and become the first practicing attorney to be crowned Miss USA.
Before becoming Miss USA, Cheslie worked full time as a complex civil litigation attorney and also served as counsel, pro bono, for clients serving excessive time for low-level drug offenses. She spoke frequently about criminal justice reform and women’s empowerment during her reign as Miss USA and also spent her year advocating for organizations including Dress for Success, Smile Train, Best Buddies, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Now on the Board of Directors and the Co-Chair of the JEDI Advisory Council at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, she continues to speak on these topics, as well as diversity, fashion, and the intersection of the two.
Cheslie’s work as a correspondent for the nationally broadcast entertainment news show, Extra TV, sharpens her ability to captivate a wide range of audiences. She regularly interviews some of entertainment's biggest names, such as Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks, Henry Golding and Lizzo to name a few.
