Karen Marino

Karen Marino has a vast range of experience in the asset-based lending industry. Currently, she is vice president at North Mill Capital, LLC. She began her career as a collateral analyst at Business Alliance Capital Corp., while in college, and advancing to senior field examiner at Santander Bank, amidst the management and ownership changes. She was later recruited by North Mill Capital, LLC. In her current role she underwrites new business in addition to handling the day to day financial needs of the customers in her portfolio, as well as ensures that the risk of exposure is continuously evaluated and mitigated. She is currently a member of the New Jersey Chapter of the SFNet and involved with different Young Professionals  committees. Ms. Marino’s volunteer work includes community outreach and volunteering time at a local resource center that provides safe houses, resources, and life skills for people who have been involved or affected by domestic violence.

Any hobbies people are surprised to hear you have?
People are usually surprised to hear that I love to volunteer for habitat for humanity, building homes. I enjoy the physical aspect as well as knowing that I am giving back to the community. Some of my hobbies that aren’t all that surprising are binge watching new shows on Netflix or reading a good book.

Vacation spots you recommend?
My favorite place to visit is Barcelona. I love the culture, the food, the architecture, and the nightlife.

Most interesting company you have worked with?
North Mill Capital is definitely the most interesting place I’ve ever worked. It’s a small enough company that I am able to interact with different people who are in all levels of the business.

Favorite dish to cook?
I’m a terrible cook, so home deliveries are my best friend!

See any good concerts or entertainment events lately?
The most recent show I saw was, Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 and it was a great show.
