Biography:

Alex Smith has more than eight years of industrial manufacturing experience, from small to middle-market companies with a focus on restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and operational improvements.   He led and participated on teams to complete over 20 leveraged buyouts totaling $200 million across a wide range of industries in North America, with purchase prices from $2 million to $39 million.  For the past two years he has worked as vice president-asset management within the ABL Group of SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. He manages an ABL portfolio of up to 18 clients (approximately $600 million in credit exposure) in syndicated and sole bank credit facilities for companies with revenues in-excess of $200 million.  Alex believes in rational thinking and common-sense solutions.  He maintains an entrepreneurial spirit and values his reputation for trustworthiness, integrity and community service. He is a licensed Investment Banking Representative (Series 79 & Series 63) who holds two degrees from the University of Kentucky and currently resides in Atlanta, GA.  Outside the office, Alex spends his time and treasure supporting non-profit organizations as well as local high schools.  He is an active member of the SFNet Atlanta YoPro! group and often attends SFNet Atlanta local chapter events.  Alex is proud to be a Kentucky Wildcat. He is a lifetime member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association and takes every opportunity to cheer on the Cats to victory.
