Joye Lynn
Managing Director, Wells Fargo Capital Finance
40 Under 40 Category: Loan Syndications
Biography:
Joye Lynn, managing director for Wells Fargo Capital Finance, was recently promoted to lead a senior team of syndication professionals in originations. Joye’s current position is fitting with her career trajectory: She started as an investment banking analyst with a Wells Fargo predecessor and was selected to join the loan syndications team in 2000. Wachovia’s merger with First Union was the catalyst that led her to pursue a career in asset-based lending where she structured, underwrote and distributed some of the company’s first broadly syndicated asset-based loans. From that point on Joye was quickly promoted, consistently exceeding goals she and her team were tasked with and was named one of the company’s youngest directors.
Joye has a passion to help others both professionally and personally. Over the past few years she has served on Wells Fargo’s Recognition Committee and as a formal and informal mentor to team members. In the past year, Joye moderated the Impact of Oil and Gas Volatility on Energy Lenders at the SFNet’s Annual Convention and served as a panelist to discuss Widely Syndicated Deals at the Cross-Border Lending Summit and a Market Review at the International Lending Conference. In 2015, Joye completed Wells Fargo Transformational Leadership training, a program which focuses on developing the unique core competencies of high-performing individuals. In 2010, Joye won one of Wells Fargo’s highest honors, The Golden Spoke, which recognizes the top team members across wholesale banking. In Atlanta, Joye is a regular volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Holy Spirit Food Delivery and Wells Fargo’s Volunteer Network activities.
Joye’s founding principles — to never stop learning, to approach challenges from multiple perspectives and to both have respect for others and expect the same in return — have guided both her academic and professional career. She graduated magna cum laude from Rochester Institute of Technology with a focus on International Finance and Accounting and was selected to study International Business at England’s Sheffield Hallam University. Joye’s drive to find a solution to challenges and build relationships has resulted in closing 48 left led transactions, totaling $15.6 billion, in just the last two years.
When informed she had been chosen as one of SFNet’ 40 Under 40 Award recipients, Joye said, “Given the number of talented professionals I’ve worked with and learned from over the years, I am honored to be nominated for the SFNet’s 40 Under 40 awards. I am fortunate to be a part of an amazing team, have the support of mentors that have guided me, and work for a company with core values that align closely with my own. Thank you, to the SFNet, Wells Fargo and the remarkable industry peers that I work with daily.”
Her nominator, Barry Bobrow, head of Loan Sales & Syndications, Wells Fargo Capital Finance, said, “Joye has distinguished herself across our organization and industry as having superior credit skills, a tireless work ethic, strong leadership capabilities, and her proven ability to make a difference with clients, sponsors and team members.”
