Nick Payne

Director of Originations, Siena Lending Group

Nick Payne is the Director of Originations for Siena Lending Group’s Chicago office. He is responsible for originating, structuring, and executing senior capital solutions for middle and lower middle market companies in the Midwest region. Prior to joining Siena Lending Group in 2015, Nick was a Vice President of Originations for Nations Equipment Finance, sourcing opportunities requiring senior term debt, collateralized by the company’s capital equipment assets.

Nick started his career at Morgan Stanley in New York City before moving to the asset manager and commodity specialist, Van Eck Global.

Nick was recognized as a 40 under 40 by the Commercial Finance Association for 2018. Currently, he is a candidate for the Level 2 CFA Exam. He lives in downtown Chicago with his wife and son (4). Nick currently serves as the Vice President for the Commercial Finance Association, Midwest Chapter and is heavily involved with local non-profit, Imerman Angels.

Any hobbies people are surprised to hear you have?
I really enjoy playing cards and anything out on the water (boating, jet skiing, etc.)

Vacation spots you recommend?
Turks & Caicos for relaxing and Cabo for a more ‘vibrant’ escape.

Most interesting company you have worked with?
Lovesac. Their chairs are so comfy (and heavy).

Favorite dish to cook?
Chicken Parmigiana

See any good concerts or entertainment events lately?
Eric Church. Billy Joel at Wrigley Field. Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers are also up there.
