Tessa Brend

Vice President, North Mill Capital LLC

Tessa Brend is an vice president at North Mill Capital LLC’s Minneapolis office.  Tessa joined PrinSource Capital Companies in 2009 as a credit team coordinator.  PrinSource was acquired by North Mill Capital in 2011; Tessa was promoted in 2012 to account executive and most recently in 2019 to VP of North Mill.  In her current role she handles the financial needs of a portfolio of clients as well as developing and using risk management tools for the Invoice Based Financing division.  She is a graduate of St. Cloud State University and involved with the local SFNet and RMA chapters.

Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband their three- and one-year old daughters and furry four-legged children.  They spend a lot of time at the family cabin on the lake and goofing around at home.

Tessa has organized the Minneapolis offices’ annual Toys for Tots or Adopt A Family and food shelf drive each year around the holidays.  She’s also coordinated team building and volunteering events.

Any hobbies people are surprised to hear you have?
I love True Crime stories: books, movies, documentaries.  I also enjoy anything artistic.  I’ve had several poems published and would love to write a book someday as well as do professional photography.

Vacation spots you recommend?
Disney World!  My husband and I went there on our honeymoon and vacationed with family there.  I’ll be going again in November with my oldest daughter whose name is Aurora Rose after Sleeping Beauty.  Our youngest is named Caroline Belle so Disney is a big part of our lives.

Most interesting company you have worked with?
One of my clients is located in my hometown in Wisconsin. The President calls my dad Coach Brend since he was my dad’s student in 7th grade and played football for him.

Favorite dish to cook?
I only cook easy things!  I think shrimp with brown rice, snap peas, garlic, ginger, and soy sauce is my favorite easy dish. I am very lucky that my husband is the family chef.

Seen any good concerts? Entertainment events lately?
This is the year of concerts for me!  I’ve recently been to Sam Hunt, Luke Bryan, Sum 41, Pitbull, and others.  Before the end of the year I’ll be going to The Offspring and Bruno Mars as well.  I’ve also attended many musicals like Jersey Boys, and Hamilton is up next!
