What Lenders Need To Know About The Pension Schemes Act 2021
November 3, 2021 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM (GMT Standard Time)
The Pension Schemes Act 2021 became law in the UK in February and will dramatically change the risk profile of lending to or investment in businesses who sponsor a UK defined benefit pension scheme.
Even for legacy pension schemes, the continuing obligations could cut across regular corporate activity and financing arrangements. New requirements are likely to result in increased paperwork, impede business as usual and slow down transactions.
We anticipate pensions moving up the corporate agenda and require a more regular interface with the pension scheme trustees and the Pensions Regulator.
Looking at high profile cases, how did we get here, who will be affected and what does the Pension Schemes Act 2021 do, including:
- New offences: when could lenders be caught?
- Practical issues: how will transactions be affected?
- Pensions Regulator: how might TPR use its powers?
The webinar will conclude with a Q&A session.
