First Citizens Bank today announced that its Middle Market Banking group has named Tao Sung as director and relationship manager in the Los Angeles region.

Based in the Santa Monica office, Sung will focus on leading his team to develop new business in the area while also supporting a portfolio of existing Middle Market Banking relationships and providing a host of products and services to customers. Sung will report to Katrin Engel, managing director and market leader of the Southern California region for First Citizens Middle Market Banking. 

“Tao’s success in the middle market banking sector point to the invaluable experiences and insights he brings to our team,” Engel said. “We are thrilled to see our Southern California team continue its steady growth and look forward to Tao’s contributions in this exciting chapter.”

Sung has been working successfully as a relationship manager in the Southern California market for over 30 years. Prior to joining First Citizens Bank, he held relationship management and business development roles at City National Bank, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan, and Chase. Sung earned a bachelor’s degree from California State University at Long Beach, holds a master’s degree from Golden Gate University, and completed a graduate program in Banking and Finance from Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.
