Business Development Level 1

SFNet’s Business Development Level 1 is an immersive course that emphasizes all areas of the business development function in a collaborative setting. Participants will explore:

• Asset-Based Lending (ABL) in the marketplace;
• Effectively identifying target markets;
• The Business Development Officer’s (BDO) role;
• Skills and traits of successful BDOs and how to develop them;
• Investing in referral sources;
• Effective marketing and networking strategies;
• Competitive advantages;
• Being an advocate for a new deal and championing the opportunity inside your shop; and,
• Managing expectations.

The Business Development Level 1 curriculum is an excellent introduction into the origination process and is open to industry newcomers and veterans of all skillsets who are interested in learning more about sourcing and closing new business, using methods that are considered best practices.
